Personally, I would define a hero as someone who goes out of their way to give back to others. For example, when someone volunteers at a homeless shelter. They are giving up their free time to help someone else. Even people who buy their kids new clothes instead of themselves because it isn't in the budget. These people do random acts of kindness for no reward or acknowledgment and that is not always easy to do. Likewise, another prime quality of a hero would be someone who always stays positive, despite the issues they're currently battling. Many people go through hardships, but the ones who stay positive and always have a smile on their faces are true heroes. They find the positive in things which is a hard quality to obtain. Also, they bring happiness to others. One person who fits these characteristics is my mother. She never fails to put everyone else before herself. She gives up her free time to cook for us, drive us everywhere, help us with everything, and so much more. Also, no matter what mood she is in, she always has a huge smile across her face. She is the reason why so many people are happy everyday. She is the definition of a true hero.

Personally, i think a hero is a person who thinks of the good of others first before themselves. Heroes should be selfless, doing what they can to make others happy. An example of this would be a parent or guardian who only wants whats good for their children and wouldn't ever do anything to put them in harms way. A hero can also be someone who just says nice things to others who may need a cheering up. Heroes could be soldiers, firemen, police, or just ordinary people. A hero is just simply someone who puts out kindness even if no one was kind to them.

A hero to me is someone who is influential to you or someone that did something extraordinary that really made an impact on your life. My hero would be my Aunt Patty. I picked her as my own hero because she always had such an amazing personality and taught me a lot of valuable lessons to go through life. One thing she told me is to be thankful for what you have because anything can happen and change at any time. For her, last November she felt great one day, and the next day she went for a checkup at the doctor and got diagnosed with cancer that day. Despite that, she was the one who had the most positivity in the family and she kept reinforcing how thankful she was that she had such an amazing family and community to support her. My Aunt Patty was the type of person who always put herself and her needs last. She also taught me that if you have a passion or dream to stick with it and there isn't anything you can't do. She was always so proud of me now matter what I did, even if I failed at something she was my encourager. Her passion was cheerleading and she died of cancer this past June and she was defiantly a fighter! We call her our cheerleader in heaven. Thus she is, but she will always be my hero!

To me, a hero is someone who does selfless acts of kindness and someone who only cares about the good will of other people. All heroes must possess the characteristic of kindness and friendliness. The hero must help someone in someway shape or form. For example, a hero would be someone like the pilot of the U.S. airways plane, Chesley Sullenberger. The plane hit a flock of geese and became unfunctional, but the pilot still managed to land the plane perfectly so it did not sink into the depths of the river. Not one person on the plane died that day thanks to the pilot. The pilot even made sure every one got off the plane first before he got off himself. This pilot is the symbol of what a hero is and is the reason why all those people on that plane survived. Without this pilot, many people would have died and many families would be destroyed.

Most consider a hero to be someone with supernatural powers. People imagine someone who saves innocent people from burning buildings with their extraordinary powers; or someone who stops a murder from happening by fighting off the bad guys with their super human strength. However, my outlook on a hero differs from the usual opinion of most people. When I think of a hero I think of someone who is bold, courageous, valiant, fearless, and is just a remarkable human being without having his/her protection of weapons or super powers in order to be a rescuer. Those people are the true heroes. The heroes we often times seek today. These heroes have their own reasons to be brave and ruthless. These people are the ones who never give up on you or anyone else. They don’t have to prove themselves by being the rescuers of a hundred cats stuck in a tree or a thousand people trapped inside a burning building. These heroes are who save you and I every day without thinking much of it. They can be your mother, father, sister, brother, best friend. Personally, my sister is my hero. She has affected so many lives and continues to affect mine today. She is always there for me, no matter what. To me she is the one person who saves me from reality. She is my escape; my safe haven from just about everything else in this terrifying world. She is the one who never lets me down and the one who tells me that everything is going to be okay, even when it’s not. There is some type of trust between us that just goes on forever; never ending. She is my idol because even though she isn't your average superhero, she is my superhero every day. We’re all fighting for the greater good; but what stands out is someone who takes it piece by piece. She is someone who starts healing the world one person at a time.

A hero is someone that fights for someone else. A hero fights for someone else and makes them feel safe. Characteristics that hero's must possess the ability to make someone feel safe and loved. Heroes also must have courage, either if the hero is on the battlefield or someone who if fighting for their life, they must possess courage. An example of a hero is my Grandpa. He fought in Vietnam war and fought for the people in the U.S. He took bullets for U.S citizens and that shows me that he is a true hero. All the people that fights for our country are heroes. Real heroes don't wear a cape or have super powers, they fight for someone they love and have the courage to do so.

To me, a hero would be a person who personally sacrifices SOMETHING to help another person. The hero doesn't even have to be a nice guy, as long as he sacrifices something to help others out. Even free time can be sacrificed to help others, and helping the right people can help you out in return. For example, there is this Yanni fellow (he's nice) and he takes so much out of his time in order to inspire the world with his unique music and helps other people follow their dreams.

There is no "textbook" hero; anything can constitute one. To me, a hero must be a person who inspires you personally; someone that influences your life in a way that no other has. A person that fits these criteria in my life is Shailene Woodley. She inspires me to live a healthier and more worthwhile life because of how she lives. She doesn’t have a cell phone or a house, and can fit all of her personal belongings in one suitcase. Shailene makes her own toothpaste, face oils, and body lotions. She also collects her own water from mountain springs. These are all things that inspire me to make the most out of what I have. Her lifestyle has influenced me into being who I want to be, something a true hero does.

When people think of heroes, they usually think of the ones in the movies that save a city from destruction. However, heroes do not always have to be someone like Superman or Spiderman; they can just be regular people. I believe that a true hero is someone who possesses the qualities of a leader, a guide, and a friend. To me, a hero must be someone who takes action in what’s going on. For example, I think that my mom is a hero because every time she sees that I am going through a rough time or need help, she guides me through it without me even asking. Also, my mom never fails to keep me on the right track in life and she does all she can to make sure I have a good life, all while being my best friend. I believe that everyone has a hero in their life, they just don’t know it. A hero can be your parent, sibling, friend, pet, or anyone in your life, as long as they have the correct qualities. A hero doesn’t have to be able to fly and prevent meteors from plummeting in to the earth, but they can be the ones you can count on in times of need and trust with anything.

How I would personally define a hero is someone that is brave and helps someone at their own risk. The characteristics that all heroes must possess is bravery and kindness. These traits are needed to be a hero because if someone is doing a selfless act they must be kind because it does not really benefit their own lives. Heroes need bravery because in most cases the hero is doing something dangerous. For example when a fire fighter runs into a burning building to try and put it out. Another example of a hero is all of the soldiers that are currently fighting for our country and all of the veterans that have fought previously. They are heroes because they risked their lives to keep all of the U.S. citizens safe.

I my eyes the definition of a hero is anyone who goes out of their way to help others. Now the men and women who serve for our country are heroes no matter what. They risk their lives for the rest of us back here in the United States. The smaller heroes in our world are the ones who donate their time or just help people out once and a while. When people donate their time too help with clothing drives or other events that help provide for the less fortunate. The others are the ones who sees someone in need and they just jump in and help them out with out second thought. Heroes are not just the soldiers who fight for us or the comic book characters.

A hero is a person that gives back to society by helping others in great ways. In order to be a hero you don't need to be someone who's idolized by thousands of people. A hero can be an ordinary person that does extraordinary things. Characteristics that come to mind when I think of a hero are brave, courageous, kind, helpful, fearless, inspiring, and determined. A hero to me are my friends. My friends help me so much when I'm going through a rough time and need someone to give me advice. Another example of a hero is someone that saves a life. Doctors all over the world save thousands of life's everyday. Without heroes society would'nt be as inspired as it is today.

A hero is someone you look up to. Someone who you can look to in any situation. Hero's are everywhere in the world. Their at your local police station, fire station, or in the armed forces. A hero contains the ability to help others before themselves and understand the sacrifices. Some hero's go unnoticed for their actions but still do whats right without expecting a reward in return. With today's hero's we are able to live happy and safe lives.

In my opinion, a hero is a person who is willing to selflessly give for anyone else. A hero can be anyone, a old man, a teenager , anyone who is willing to give or go out of their way for someone else no matter who they are. Heroes don't have to be wearing latex and have a cape, a hero is the everyday firefighter, police officer, paramedic, etc. Heroes are people who are willing to guide, defend, and serve the common person. Anyone can be a personal hero; your friend, mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, uncle, aunt, or even a famous figure. As long as people look up to them for some reason, they can be classified as a hero. so the common thought of superman flying in to save the world should just be modified. Instead of a supernatural man in tights running in to save someone, think of your modern civilian with an overwhelming sense of courage and valiance.

To me personally a hero, is someone that YOU think is a hero. Many people have different perspectives on what a hero is, some say they have superpowers and save the city, and others say they are just everyday people who go out of their way to do something for others. My vision of a hero is someone who just wants to make people smile, and even helps others even without wanting credit for what they did. To me a hero that would fit this description is the singer, Harry Styles, i think this because he is always so sweet even off camera and just spreads happiness to others, and doesn't let fame get to his head. He even is extremely generous and has done many charities, noticed by the media. But my favorite thing about him that truly makes him a hero is that he does things for others in his free time that the media doesn't notice because he doesn't really tell anyone, like once he had bought over 100 dominos pizza and just handed them out to people on the street, we never even knew he'd done this till about a year later when his best friend Ed Sheeran was tell an interview how great of a guy Harry was.

Personally a hero is someone people look up to. Someone that inspires people, to want to be just like them. All heroes must possess courage. They must be brave to show that they aren't afraid of what will happen to them as long as they stick up for someone or themselves. A hero could be anyone from a really good friend, to a famous person, to an officer and to your own family. My hero would be my grandfather. I look up too my grandfather because I want to accomplish great things like he did. If he can shoot a deer at least a hundred-fifty yards away then I want to shoot a dear at a hundred an fifty-five yards away. He is also kind, loving, and very helpful to others in need. You can always count on him for advice or help. He is my hero.

A hero can be described in many ways. A hero can be like a superhero with superpowers like flight, strength, or heat vision. A hero can be as simple as a family member who you look up to. Heroes are those who you wish to be like. Those whom you see and will do anything to be. For me, it is my grandfather. He didn't have a family growing up, so now he is very family-oriented. He always hosts family dinners, and is a lighthearted, funny person whom can get along with anyone. I look up to him because I want to be him. I want to be the kind of person who knows everybody, and doesn't have a care in the world. Everybody needs a hero. Everybody has one, even if you don't know it yet. Knowing your hero Helps you become who you want to be. Heroes show you your goals in life. Heroes help change the course of our lives, and while we might try to base ourselves off of them, we will always become our own person.

A hero is someone who selfishly puts others before themselves. They must all be brave and strong so they can perform their acts that make them heroes. First responders are heroes because they put the well fare of others before themselves. Fire fighters go into dangerous locations to rescue people whereas other people do not. While some heroes get paid, others like volunteers do not, nevertheless both are heroes. These heroes sometimes die while helping others such as the many first responders who died on 9/11 while trying to save as many people as they could before the towers collapsed. Not all heroes have superpowers or wear capes, heroes live all over the world, there are many in your own town.

I feel like a hero can come in many diffrent shapes or sizes. There are many diffrent features a hero could have, it's not possible to look at someone and just think "oh there deffenently a hero" by what they wear or how they look. My definition of a hero is someone that does selfless thing to help some one in the situation there in. When I think of a hero I usually think of war veterans and how they've put themselves at the risk of death just to save us and so we could be a free country. I think a hero would be someone that usually is nice and does there best to help you in a cituation. Doctors are also heroes they save lives everyday. A hero int jut someone that saves lives tho to me a hero I also someone that provides assistance for someone that is in need. For example if you were to give a homeless person food and clothes it may not mean much to everyone else but I bet that your a hero to the homeless person.

I wold personally define a hero as a person that constantly put their lives on the line for others that another person can not handle. Also, a hero would be defined as a person that you, as an individual, would look up to for support and comfort. The characteristics that this hero must have would be kindness and strength. Strength because the person must be mentally strong, not always physically. A hero with these characteristics could be a veteran, a hero of war. He/she must be mentally prepared to provide support for his or her comrades in war or others that they may be helping in their situation. Also this is a good example because people can look up to a veteran because they have been through so many things and they might not be mentally stable anymore due to the fact of what they seen and pulled throughed. They are even kind to people and families and civilians they are protecting. They know what goes on in war to keep us all safe and sound and they are so strong for being so kind to everyone. Most of all, they are brave, strong and kind enough to put their lives on the line for our freedom. A hero must have these qualities, but anyone can be a hero.

I think a hero is a person that values others more than themselves. A hero should also be someone that is looked up to by other people. Hero's can be found all over the world, you just need to open your eyes to realize who they truly are. An example of a hero should be our parents. Our parents sacrifice everything for us and for our happiness. Think about this when you get mad or ticked off at your parents for whatever reason. All they want is the best for you.

I would personally define a hero as someone who takes it upon themselves to care for and worry about people even when its not asked for. A hero is not usually shared between people. Everyone has their own hero or heroes. The characteristics a hero must include is selflessness, the ability to listen and provide well thought out responses, the ability to make you happy and help you. A hero can be anyone to you. One person i think is a hero is Robin Williams because he was a very funny comedian who made me very happy even though he was an unhappy man. I have also heard many stories of him giving to other people and donating which is also a very good trait to have as a hero. A hero does not have to be a popular person or someone famous it can be your best friend or your dog.
