There are many different theories as to how the world was created, but here is one you probably never thought of; how about the aliens? Think about it. There are many of these religions, like Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, and Buddhism that center their beliefs around a so-called "God", or a creator. How do you explain the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, created so immaculately and so perfectly? Wouldn't you think that something like that created by man be a little bit mote fragile than it is? Even if it were created by humans, who had that much power to enslave those people to create them?In religion, we base our Gods off of people that have these amazing powers, so it would only make sense that these extraterrestrials were the start of a theory of religion or the creation of the world.

That's an interesting theory Rob. It is curious to think about all those historic landmarks that have been around for thousands of years to think how can man create something like that. Cool thing to think about.

Rob, what you are saying is true. All of the things in the past that has happened, such as the pyramids, no one can do that today. There have to be a reason for that. How could the Egyptians build such beautiful still standing masterpieces and loose that information. They most have had some help by someone or something.

I actually have thought of that before, and it definitely is interesting to question how everything on our special little planet started. Have you ever seen Men in Black? More importantly, the second one? (If not, ignore this, or better yet, watch it. Good movie.) The science experiment you are speaking of is like the ending to that movie when they open the door and it turns out that they are only living inside a locker at some alien train station.

As far as extra terrestrial life goes, I would only believe in the stories about Area 51 in Nevada. If any record of life outside of earth is true, I believe that Area 51 would be the place where everything is stored. It could be like Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura. The government would be hiding a lot of information about any sign of life beyond earth at this facility. Also, what is said or written about Area 51, if anything, is most likely regulated by the government to keep the truth from the public in fear of mass panic upon the population. Movies also cause a stir of mixed emotions as to whether or not people will believe in extra terrestrial life. Such examples, I feel, could be Independence Day and Battle Las Angeles. I also believe that this is entirely debatable as to whether or not anyone believes. Everything comes down to what people see and hear as well as the people that surround them and their beliefs which also could have an impact on one's thought of the subject. Getting back on track, I do not believe in extra terrestrial life for the mos part purely because of human fantasy and thought through ideas and movies which does not really prove anything. The only thing that I somewhat believe is that there may be more to Area 51 as far as anything else goes.

In my opinion, I do not think that there is other intelligent life in our universe. It is truly a mystery. We haven't even been able to fully explore Earth so what is to say that there is not life on other planets. There is thousands of miles of unexplored underwater that are a mystery to us. If we haven't been able to fully understand Earth than what is to say that there isn't intelligent life as close to us as Mars. There has to be some life elsewhere that is as or more intelligent than we are. Somewhere in space there has to be some type of alien species. I don't really watch or read about any extraterrestrial stories so I wouldn't know much about theories of this stuff, but our species can't be the only striving and intelligent one.

"If we haven't been able to fully understand Earth than what is to say that there isn't intelligent life as close to us as Mars." This is completely accurate. We know the oceans floor, or beneath hasn't been explored nearly as much as it could be. There could very well be life down there that humans are unaware of, just as there could be extraterrestrial life we have yet to discover.

I do believe that there is intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. The odds are outstanding that we, humans, are no the only intelligent life in the universe. Our world in 4.5 billion years old. That is a very small time period when you compare it to other stars and planets. Now, intelligent life does not have to be "little green men", but of some other life form. And chances are they will be a lot more intelligent than humans because of how long their planet has been in existence. Most people think of alien as other human-like creatures with amazing capabilities and awesome spacecraft. And correspond with all of the UFO sightings. For example, this YouTube video of UFO sightings. URL:

Yes. I say that their are aliens. I believe this because we can't be the only living things in the university. The galaxy is huge and has not been explored to the fullest yet. We have no idea what is out there until space is fully explored. It is one of life's greatest mysteries to us. And until we have the power to explore space it its fullest. We can't say that there are no one out there. No one can say that they exist or don't exist. Not until space is fully explored. Until that happens and it is proven that they exist or don't exist. Then I say that their are aliens and that one day we will find them or they will find us.

I think it would be incredibly naive to definitively say you are absolutely, 100 percent sure that there is no other intelligent life in existence. How do you know? Because there is no conclusive evidence of it? There is no conclusive evidence of any higher being but yet people wholeheartedly believe in that. Some people claim to have talked to God, or been touched by God, or been given a message from God. Well people claim to have had contact with aliens, or been abducted by aliens, or seen alien spacecrafts. And I'm not trying to bash religion here, and I am not saying that there is no God. God may be real. I don't know. All I'm saying is that if so many people believe in God with the chance that He is real, why do so few people believe in the potential existence of extraterrestrial life forms? Is it really that much more far-fetched? Maybe it seems so to you at first glance due to the societal and cultural norms, rules, and regulations that we as a people like to adhere to. But logically, if you actually take the time to think about it, not so much. What allows us to be the only life in existence? Why are we so special? 2/21/2013 09:10:14 am
Shayne, I like your argument. It takes faith to believe in both God and extraterrestrial beings, and that's what makes this debate so interesting.

I do believe that intelligent life exists somewhere. For us to believe that there isn't is foolish. There is so much space that we have not yet explored and who knows what could be there, or what was there. However, I am very skeptical of the various UFO sightings that be people are always claiming occur, because the information doesn't always add up. But overall, there is NO way that nothing else exists, out there. There is an incomprehensible amount of space still left unaccounted for, so who's to say that those other life forms aren't out there pondering the same question we are now? These other life forms, like Rob previously stated could explain things like the Pyramids of Giza. Hopefully these other intelligent life forms are similar to Transformers or something because I'd totally love to have a car that turns into Optimus Prime, and if you say you wouldn't like that you're a liar and I hate you.

There is much reason to believe there is life beyond what we know of. However, as far as the government is concerned I highly doubt they know either. First of all, how would anyone be able to discover an extraterrestrial world? Or how would such a discovery not leak and become universal news? It's likely there is or has been an intelligent life because of the unknown. Today we assume Egyptians built the ancient Roman pyramids, but have no proof men were able to complete such strenuous tasks without the help of another life. In a different perspective, why would it be so strange to find out there is another intelligent life? What makes the human specie normal? As far as we're concerned, there is an extraterrestrial life imagining tall, lanky, hairy humans with fingernails and toes just as we imagine short green aliens with antennas sticking out of them. It is very possible they too exist. Coming in contact with intellectual creatures any time in the near future is predictably unlikely.

In my opinion, there are other forms of intelligent life elsewhere than in the universe we live in. I am not necessarily even talking about aliens or weird looking creatures, but simply other intelligent life. Space is such a vast and complex area. There are so many galaxies and also other universes. For us to say that we are the only intelligent life species is very naive. Another important point to bring up is the fact that our species has not even ventured through all of space. There is still so much of space that has not even been discovered. Therefore, to say that there is not even the possibility of another intelligent species would be simply taking an uneducated guess. No, I am not saying that I believe in the various UFO sightings people have claimed to witness throughout history or other strange phenomena, but I will not rule out the possibility that aliens and such are existent. Until science or the human race in general can confirm that other intelligent life forms do not exist, I can not say that I do not believe that they are they, and neither can anyone else.

I believe that there are no other life forms in our universe. When people say that they saw a UFO, I believe that it is one of our governmental aircraft that nobody knows about from area 51. All of the other planets in our universe are not able to have life on them. NASA has a robot on Mars where they can operate it from the Earth. There is no found life on Mars, due to its insufficient atmosphere. No other form of life is able to live on any of the planets. Jupiter has 64 times the gravity that earth does. It would crush anything foreign that walked on it. People listen to too many shows on television and find on the internet. They are not true. It is very difficult for another living thing to sustain life anywhere else in the Universe besides the Earth.

There is a possibility that there is other intelligent life on other planets. People can’t prove that aliens exist; but they cannot prove they don’t. Also there is the fact that we have not explored every other planet or place in the galaxy. As Shayne mentioned that there is no proof of God existing or not existing and people still believe that He exists. Back on Earth, there are still geographical areas and species that are still being discovered. In 2006, for example, about 46 new species were discovered every day, for a total of 16,969 species that year. If we still have new species on our own planet, there is a good chance that there might be another intelligent life form on a different planet. I don’t necessarily believe there are aliens, but I also don’t disbelieve it. Something doesn’t match up about the “UFO sightings” but who knows what it really is. The universe is so big and we don’t know what exists out in much of it. 2/21/2013 09:02:01 am
As a believer, I certainly come from the Creationism standpoint. "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." That's the first verse of the Bible. In Genesis, the first book of the Bible, it says God created everything on Earth and around the earth, including the universe. Since God made this earth for humans (His pride and joy), the universe was sort of like the icing on the cake to glorify His creativity. Now the universe is necessary, but God's focus was the earth. The Bible doesn't say, "In the beginning God created Jupiter, the Earth and the heavens." If there were other life, I'm sure its importance would be noted. Since Genesis talks about life's beginning, we would certainly know of extraterrestrial beings out there. The only intelligent life out there is God, the Creator of the Universe.

As many people have already said, it would be completely unrealistic to claim there is absolutely no chance of there being another form of life within the universe. When taking a stance about something like the presence of other forms of intelligent life, we have to consider the role of the government. Not one person should disagree with the fact that the government keeps things from us for our own safety; whether you like it or not, chances are they are keeping some information about this topic from us. Hearing that statement and while considering all “UFO sightings” and the Area 51 fiasco, it’s almost impossible to claim there is no chance of other forms of life. Finally, another great point that other classmates have touched upon is that we have not even fully explored our own planet, forget others. Without having thoroughly explored the other planets in our universe, how are we justified to say that nothing is there? All in all, there is no prominent answer to the question “Is there intelligent life somewhere other than Earth.” We as everyday citizens have no power to make any concrete decision; we simply do not know enough about the topic. To have such a strong opinion either one way or the other is impossible, there are too many illogical theories supporting a big yes or a big no.

I agree with what you said about how we haven't explored nearly enough to know that there's no other life in the universe. Even though I think it is very possible that there is life somewhere else, there really is no way for us to tell with what we know right now.

I definately believe that there are other forms of life somewhere out there. It may not be mars or anything in this solar system, but somewhere out there, there is life. To think that earth is the only planet in the whole galaxy that is able to sustain life is completely absurd. Every star we see can have planets around it just as earth revolves around the sun. And it is quite possible that one of those planets can have the same characteristics as earth. The only reason we havent came in contact with aliens yet is because we are way out of their reach. When taking into account the size of the galaxy, humans basically havent explored ANY of it. It is the same as looking at the ocean and declaring that it doesnt support any form of life simply because you didnt see anything last time you went to the beach. I believe that the government does know about ufo's and it is only a matter of time before the general public will know about it too. With basically every cellphone equiped with a camera, it shouldnt be too long.

I would like to say that I believe that other lifeforms exist in the universe, but truthfully I'm not too convinced. I'm not against the idea of other lifeforms possibly existing, I just find it hard to believe because there is never any proof. All the proof is usually just my word against yours. For example I can come into class tomorrow and say I saw a UFO, chances are most people will think I'm crazy, but someone may believe me simply because they believe in the idea of other lifeforms in the universe. Also there are videos and pictures of so called UFO's, but that can never truly prove anything. There will always be someone who points out the flaws of the media. People also usually want to see the real thing, not something online. Once you see something like that in person, I think your perspective on the subject would change. I know mine opinion would change. However if you just see a video or picture online, it's almost impossible to truly believe it. So to summarize my personal opinion on this subject, I need to see it to believe it.
Kaitlyn
2/21/2013 11:02:10 am
I think it’s likely that there is life somewhere else in the universe. The amount of planets we can go to, or even see well though a telescope is so small compared to how many there are. We don’t even know how far the universe goes on past what we see with something like the Hubble telescope. The huge amount of planets there could possibly be life on makes it hard for me to believe it does not exist anywhere but on Earth. I remember seeing an article somewhere that said scientists had found several planets that could support life. This is assuming that the alien life is similar to what we know. It could even be possible that a planet which could never support human life could have some other kind of organism living on it. For example, one that had evolved to live somewhere with a different type of atmosphere, or a much higher or lower temperature than Earth. I know none of this is proof that aliens exist, but I think that with the possibly infinite amount of space there is, it is very likely. Even on Earth, there are animals which can live in places that would seem inhabitable. For examples, deep sea fish that live somewhere with a lot of pressure on them from the water, and no light exist. If even on Earth something has adapted to live in such unusual conditions, I think it is possible for alien life to exist on planets which we wouldn’t think would support life.

Yes, I do believe that there is intelligent life somewhere out there in our massive universe. scientists are discovering not only planets, but whole galaxies constantly. To disregard the idea that there most likely is life on one of those planets is absolutely absurd. This form of life does not have to be green little people with one eye that speak in a weird language, either. Furthermore, I think it's interesting to think of what they're like and if they wonder the same thing about us. I'm positive that scientists will find intelligent life somewhere else and that discovery will open so many doors for the future. It's foolish and selfish of people to think that we are the only ones in a universe with billions of planets that even thinking about it makes me "mind boggled".

A part of me does believe that there is intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. It is extremely difficult to agree one hundred percent that there is intelligent life elsewhere. This is mainly because the media tends to exaggerate the truth. I have read numerous articles and watched multiple youtube videos that have evidence that there is life elsewhere in the universe. Although many of these articles and videos seem realistic I still cannot say that I truly believe it. It is also hard for me to believe something that I have not seen. If I personally saw a UFO I would probably believe that there is life elsewhere in the universe, seeing it on video just doesn't cut it. I also think that part of me doesn't want to believe that there is intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. It is kind of scary to think this and even more scary to think that this unknown life could potentially be harmful to humans. As of right now I cannot say that I truly believe there is intelligent life elsewhere in the universe.

Extraterrestrial beings are most definitely plausible. If the universe is indeed infinite, they must exist somewhere. If life is here, why can't it exist somewhere else? The issue is that we don't know what to look for. And if we did find some other life form, would it even be worth it?

Every time I hear about extraterrestrial or anything similar to it, I roll my eyes thinking about how much my father is a believer of it all. I'm usually not the type that says seeing is believing, but when it comes to this stuff, seeing is believing. If there is intelligent life elsewhere I feel that they would all ready make themselves know. I understand that there's tv shows, books and other programs that say they have the facts and knowledge that there is life beyond Earth. And they also say the same thing ,"the government doesn't want you to know this but we feel you should know the truth." I feel like if there is life out there the government would never tell the public. Too many people would be hysterical. If the government really truly does not want the public to know about aliens then they would never let people broadcast it across the nation. If aliens land on Earth, if I see them; then I'll believe it. But if that day ever.. does come lets hope they come in peace.

Aliens are a scary an interesting topic to think about. I remember Mr. G once compared the pilgrims coming to North America in ships being to the Native Americans what it would be like to us if Aliens landed on our planet. Can I say with certainty that there either is or isn't alien life out there? Of course not. Although, it's tough to really say anything with absolute certainty. But if the universe is as big as they say it is (and I hear that it's pretty big), then the odds point to there being alien life somewhere out there. Which means, if you think about it, then we are aliens to them. So in some other universe some alien class could being a blog about us. Trippy. If our government ever found out about alien life, I don't think they would tell us. They'd keep it a secret for as long as possible, because people would freak out if they knew about. So who knows, maybe we have already discovered alien life? Dun, dun, DUN!

I like how you point out that there could be aliens thinking the we're the aliens. It seems that us puny humans seem to think that we are the center of the universe and we're not the freaky looking aliens, they are. It just puts things into perspective thinking that some species on some planet tells stories of scary looking humans abducting them and performing experiments on them before wiping their memory.

I've never really put too much thought into the idea of aliens but I feel like there could be something out there. Except part of me really thinks that if there were extraterrestrials out there we would know. But many scientists have made a point that we have barely touched space research. There could be a lot more out there that we just haven't explored. However, I don't think there are species that are exactly like humans. There may be life out there but I have to believe that they are much different. But for all I know there could be a whole other earth out there that is just like ours. This is kind of a hard blog to write about just because I nothing about this subject. I have seen a couple documentary about aliens and they are pretty convincing. I'd like to see how this sci-fi literature makes me feel about extraterrestrial life.

2/21/2013 01:04:55 pm
I'm not going to lie..I'm no syfy enthusiast and I don't know an abundance of information about lifeforms outside of planet earth but I do believe that extraterrestrial beings may exist somewhere in space. It's definitely plausible that these so called "aliens" could be somewhere out there, even if it's beyond our galaxy. The universe is seemingly infinite, so why would life only be sustainable on this tiny spec in space, we call earth? Also, why are these aliens always pictured as green creatures with one eye and googly voices? Perhaps the creatures out there are just specs of bacteria. Maybe the scientists just don't know exactly what to look for, and these lifeforms are unlike anything we could ever imagine.

Is there intelligent life somewhere else in the universe? Absolutely. There is too much room in the universe to say that there isn't. Of course there is no way to prove if there is or isn't, but odds are there is. All of these sci-fi movies are a little far fetched but they have the right idea. Eventually, something will make contact with us. That might not be the best thing. They might be more advanced and will take over our world. It will happen though. I have no doubt about that. The bottom line is that there is life out there, and whether we like it or not, they will find us.

It is very naive to think that somewhere in our almost infinite universe that there is no intelligent life. Just think about how vast our universe is. Actually, you can't. The universe is so large that its immense size is impossible to fathom. Couple that with the fact that we have already found a few "earth-like" planets, albeit far away, and we have the perfect recipe for other life.

Part of me wants to believe that there is other life forms in this universe, however part of me is afraid to think so. With all the technology we have, we have made great advancements with exploration in space. We have gone to other planets and found that it is possible for another life form to live. Part of me wants to believe all the crazy shows that are on tv about aliens and what not. However, there has been no physical evidence that they are out there, so it is hard for me to believe in something that you cannot see. Yes I understand that there has been things that the government has probably covered up, but is it better or worse for the community. If they came out and said that they found something from a different life form, the public with go crazy. Many people would go into "end of the world" mode. It probably is a better idea to just try and hide all the evidence than let it out. It may seem like a shady idea but it would be in the best interest of the people.

It is very difficult to say whether or not there is intelligent life beyond our planet. I think it is very possible, though, that there could be other living things out there in the universe. Intelligent life might not consist of little green aliens with purple eyes, however. It could just mean different plants or insects that have adapted and grown to the environment on another planet. I dont believe the people who say they saw a "UFO" or anything of that sort either. That just seems unreasonable and impossible. Plus they make it seem like they lived through the movie E.T., when in reality their eyes were just playing tricks on them. I don't really like thinking about aliens, or other intelligent life out there though. It's a very scary thing to picture. What if one day an alien just sucks me up out of nowhere into his spaceship? I WOULD DIE.

I really don't have much to say about aliens. Do I think there is more life on this planet than just us. I mean how can we be the only ones in this huge universe with places we haven't even explored ourselves. I'm sure if they're real they aren't green with large heads. Actually I think they would be more like the movie transformers. With technology being so amazing, I don't see why not. I'd be completely okay with my car being a giant alien robot who saves my life. That's awesome! Although I do hope if any, they are friendly. I am not for being taken hostage and brain washed. But I don't really know. Could there be a possibility? Why not. You don't know and neither do I. That's what's so interesting about the topic. No one really knows.

I do and I don't believe that there is intelligent life some where out in the universe. Part of me would like to believe that on some far away planet there is a world just like ours. However, at the same time it's such a mind blowing topic it's hard to wrap your brain around. I for one think that space and the unknown is a scary topic. It's freaky to think that we have the technology to leave this planet and explore others. But it is even freakier to think that somewhere there may be another galaxy, another planet, with living creatures just like ours. There is really no scientific evidence to prove there is or isn't intelligent life out in the universe which makes it very difficult to back up an opinion either way. Take Area 51 for example. There is supposedly a headquarters right in America with proof of alien existence yet, does anyone really know for sure that's what they have stored in Area 51? It's a topic that has been debating for decades and will continue to be debated for centuries to come. I for one am neutral this debate simply because I do not know. I do not know for sure whether there is or isn't extraterrestrials living out in the universe somewhere, therefore I cannot form a concrete opinion either way.

It seems very likely to me that there is intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. Personally I haven't given the subject much thought. The universe is so vast and massive that it just seems logical to assume other living creatures are out there. However, there are many UFO sightings that I believe to be complete jokes. Aliens seem sort of far-fetched to most people because we do not have any proof that they exist. There have been alleged sightings and things like that but no actual proof. Outer space is so large and the majority is yet to be explored by humans. It is unbelievable how much space there actually is. There has to be some other forms of life somewhere. To me it seems obvious that there is intelligent life living somewhere in all that space.

Do I believe there's intelligent life elsewhere in the universe? Absolutely. Or I least I hope so. Not only do I hope they're intelligent, I hope they're smarter than us here on earth. It's a scary thought, yes, but it's very well possible. We don't know what else is out there in the world. Humans think they're the most intelligent beings to roam the earth simply because, as of right now, it's true. But there could be more than just us. I've heard people say "there's always going to be someone more intelligent than you," but what if the same is true for humans as a whole?

I have often wondered about the many ancient artifacts and structures that have endured thousands of years. Could primitive humans have been capable of forming structures such as the Great Pyramids? If life was able to permit itself over millions of years in the many different forms found on earth, than isn't it possible that the same thing has happened somewhere else in the universe? We have been able to accomplish some unthinkable and amazing things such as traveling through space. If life elsewhere is as old as life on earth, or perhaps even older, then wouldn't it be more than likely that they, too, can travel through space? I believe that the possibility of other life forms is definitely possible. We all hear about UFO sightings on crazy TV shows, but who would ever believe that, right? Well wait until you actually have an experience. I've experienced something unexplainable, which I just like to classify as an alien sighting. Two summers ago I was at my neighbors with my sister and neighbor. We were all laying down and enjoying the poolside. I saw a plane flying in the air above us. It was very small so it was far away. I have really bad vision and I wasn't wearing my glasses or contacts. I jokingly said to my friends, "LOOK! Its a UFO!" They replied calling my stupid, and assured me that it was a plane. We were laughing at the joke while we continued to stare above at the plane. Within a second, this "plane" went backward, left, forward, right, backward.. It went crazy in all directions and then disappeared. All three of us saw this, and we all freaked out. I couldn't believe it. It was almost as though it heard us talking about it being a UFO. So, are aliens real? Well, either the government has secret planes that can go crazy and switch directions and then disappear, or yes, aliens do exist.

Ever sense man has walked on this earth; there have been stories of abductions, and visits from extraterrestrial beings. Thousands of people have claimed to see spaceships or strange disturbances in our atmosphere, but for the most part, society looks at these people as crazy. Many people will say that there is no other form of life out there, but this is an extremely naive statement. Humans know extremely little about our own solar system and within our galaxy there are thousands of solar systems, and within our universe there are thousands of galaxies. This just says that the probability of earth being the only planet with intelligent life is slim to none. Now getting into the more scientific and religious view of this question, if earth was to be the only planet with intelligent life, then what is the point of having so many large planets, and galaxies? Also, what is the point of existence if we are the only planet with life? If we are the only ones, then there is no reason to even survive, we are all that there is. Other then maybe new places, there is nothing else to find. but if there is life on other planets, then it gives life more meaning, we can learn from each other, help each other, and alley with one and other. There is most certainly more intelligent life out there.

Of course there are many different people with many different theories as to what the world is like beyond our universe. Some believe that we are the only living creatures. While others believe there are many forms of other life. In my opinion, I think it is possible for there to be other life on other planets besides on earth. Although they may not be as complex and smart as us humans. There must be some thee form of life that has yet to be found. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, mine just happens to be broad minded. Some scientists may say it is impossible for creatures to survive on the different air and food but maybe they live in a different way. Maybe they thrive off of that different air. Maybe there is another life out there just waiting to be discovered.

You have to be incredibly naive to believe that human beings are the first intelligent species to ever roam the stars of the universe. How big is the universe, well no one exactly knows, but the universe itself is 13.77 billion years old, and if the big bang theory proves to be true, it is STILL getting bigger and bigger by the second.

I've always been so indifferent to this topic. Most of the time i like to believe that there is another life form out in the universe, but occasionally I'm convinced that there isn't. People always say they see UFO's or have had some sort of alien interaction. If that's said to be true then the life elsewhere in the universe must be very intelligent. These "aliens" where able to create transportation devices to come to earth. Humans have been trying for years to build rockets to go to the moon. There has never been proof of anyone actually making it on the moon. I do believe that there is intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. Maybe not life we will come in contact with, but that doesn't mean life doesn't exist somewhere else. Comments are closed.
